U.S. Veteran

Tom was born at Independence, VA, to the late Carlie Morton and Mattie Rose Murray Morton. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Surviving, his wife, Brenda Anderson Morton of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Clark and Renee Morton of Richmond, VA; granddaughter, Katherine Grace Morton; grandson, Christian Clark Morton; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, H. C. Anderson, Johnny and Susan Anderson and Jacky and Kippy Anderson all of Independence; aunt, Sue Morton of Independence; several nieces, nephews, cousins and two very special friends, Ramsy and Hazel Page of Independence;

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Storie officiating. Interment in Bridle Creek Cemetery with Military rites by Grayson County VFW Post 7726.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. on Saturday until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or the American Cancer Society, C/O Iva Easter, 1235 Beaver Dam Road, Hillsville, VA 24343 or Grayson County Relay for Life.
