Kate was born at Major, Va. of Grayson County, to William Gordie and Ila Marie Plummer Christian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Reese Jones, daughter Patsy Louise Jones Sheppard, and son James Carlyle Jones.

Surviving, her sister, Frances Sue Christian Breeden of Herndon, VA; Son, Kyle Edward Jones of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Howard Dennis Sheppard and wife Cynthia Sheppard of Spotsylvania, VA, and grandson Edward Willard Jones and wife Sheila Jones of Independence, VA

Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Russell officiating. Interment in Monta Vista Cemetery, Galax, VA

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
