Mr. Delp was born at Comers Rock, VA, to Joseph Mitchell Delp and Laura Bell Hackler Delp.

Surviving, two daughters and spouses, Sandra D. and Bnny medley of Elk Creek, VA, and Robin D. and David Hampton of Galax, VA; one son, Steven S. Delp of Elk Creek, VA; one brother and spouse, Claude and Geneva Delp of Elk Creek, VA; five sisters and spouses, Anna Lee Hall, Irene and J.C. Tolley, Nell Delp, and Clara Sue and Jessie Moss all of Elk Creek, VA, and Janet Marie and Benny Cannon of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral sevice will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Comers Rock Cemetery, Elk Creek, VA. Rev. Joe Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6 until 8 p.m.
