Alton Wade Blevins, better known as Wade of Woodlawn, VA formerly of Independence, VA, passed away Oct. 24, 2024, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born April 12, 1943, in Grayson County to Isom and Elmer Reeves Blevins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond Blevins.

Wade enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved attending community activities attending church, and he loved to fish.

He is survived by one sister, Carol Barnes of Wilkesboro, NC; one nephew, Edwin (Ed) Blevins and girlfriend Michelle Testerman of Independence, VA; one niece, Charlene Brewer and boyfriend Eric Brown of Ennice, NC; very special caregiver, Mary Henley of Woodlawn, VA; several great nieces and nephews also survive.

A special thank you to all the staff at the Wall Residency for the years of care they provided for Wade.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Reins~Sturdivant Funeral Home with pastor Sanford Hendrix officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
