Andrew Scott Cornett, age 59, of Elk Creek, the Comers Rock Community, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Lewis-Gale Hospital in Blacksburg, VA.  He was born on June 30, 1964, in Prince George County, Maryland to Earl Bronson and Beverly Jane DeShong Cornett.

Andy graduated from Independence High School and will be remembered for his love of outdoors, farming, and his mother's cooking-especially her homemade pizza! He was a talented and gifted mechanic. While his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting.  He never met a stranger and was delighted to talk to anybody who would listen!  He brought much joy and laughter to all who knew him.  He loved all children and not having children of his own, he nurtured and maintained a close relationship with his nephews, Adam and Aaron. He was equally devoted to his great nephews, Jaxon and Bronson and great niece, Emma. Andy will be missed by his family and his many friends across Grayson County, VA.

Andy was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Beverly Cornett of Elk Creek, one brother, David and Sherry Cornett of Elk Creek; two nephews, Adam and Jessica Cornett of Wytheville, VA and Aaron and Cortney Cornett of Christiansburg, VA; great nephews, Jaxon Cornett and Bronson Cornett; and one great-niece, Emma Cornett.
