Barbara was born in Galax, VA to Kyle and Bonnie Hackler on October 20, 1938.  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jessie Anders; a daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Steve Durham of Anderson, SC; two sons and daughters-in-law Bruce and Melissa Anders of Myrtle Beach, SC and Chris and Julie Anders of Elk Creek; three grandsons and three grand daughters Trevor and Allison Anders of Galax, Clay and Ashley Anders of Elk Creek, Will Anders of Elk Creek, Kristi Durham of Pendleton, SC, Wendy and Mark Dixon of Pulaski and Elyse and Kenny Bryant of Fort Rucker, Alabama.  She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great grand daughter.

Her life was enriched by special people whom she proudly introduced as "family" Randy and Angela Hale of Elk Creek and Ronnie and Alexis Byrd of Independence.

Barbara grew up in the Comers Rock Community of Grayson County where she lived life to the fullest.  She will be remembered most for her love of her family and her generosity.  Barbara loved to laugh. Her faith in God was strong and remained constant through good and bad.  She was a member of Mount Zion United Church.

Barbara was blessed to be surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of her passing February 26, 2021.

A celebration will be held at Comers Rock Cemetery in Elk Creek, VA on Sunday March 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Ronnie Byrd officiating.
