Mrs. Barbara Jean Edwards Givens, age 71, of Sparta died Friday at her home. She was born May 3, 1946 to Bert Charlie and Ella Donna Bedsaul Edwards in Galax. Virginia.
Mrs. Givens is survived by her husband, Dr. Julian Lee Givens of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathleen and Everett Shaw of Sparta and Veneree and Bobby Sparks of Sparta, one brother Roger Edwards of Piper's Gap, Virginia; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Kenny and Anita Nikirk Givens of Lebanon, Virginia and one step-daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ellen Givens and Michael Francis Urbanski of Roanoke, Virginia. 5 step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday afternoon at 2:00 at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, Virginia by Rev. Everett Shaw and Rev. Brad Wooten and Rev. Donald Buck Shaw.
