Obituary

Betty Faye Kilby Osborne age 83, of the Mouth of Wilson, VA community passed away on July 10, 2025, at the Grayson Rehab and Nursing Center in Independence, VA.  Faye was born on August 4, 1941, in the Whitetop Community of Grayson to Clayborn and Alice Greer Kilby.

Faye was a member of the Mouth of Wilson Baptist Church.  As a lady of great faith, she loved listening to gospel music. Her family rejoices that her hope has now been made complete and her faith has become reality.  She enjoyed coloring books and puzzles.  She loved working in her flower gardens enjoying nature.  She gave special attention to her birds and was dedicated to maintaining her birdfeeders.  As a daughter of the mountains, she loved gardening and canning.  She took great joy in her family and delighted in providing for them.  She enjoyed baby sitting and especially relished having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around her.  She also cherished spending time with her sister, Drenda Roten.  While Faye endured failing health for many years, she was fortunate to have her family as caregivers.  Even in her final few weeks in the nursing home, her family was by her side.  The family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to her grandson, Elijah Clampett, for his most kind and compassionate care to his grandmother during her illness.  They also wish to express their appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Wanda, Lakin, and Savanna as well as the staff of Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Faye is survived by her loving family including her husband of 61 years, Jerry Osborne of the home; two daughters, Lisa and Rev. Jeff Blevins of Mouth of Wilson and Shelly and Mark Clampett of Independence, VA; one son, Gary and Libby Osborne of Grant, Virginia. One sister, Drenda and Clarence Roten of Mouth of Wilson, VA; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Osborne of Grassy Creek, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, Amber, Elijah, Christian, step-grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Abigail, Brandy and Miranda; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Krislyn, Ethan, Emerick, Kinzlie, Ezra, step-great-grandchildren, Justice, Shaylyn, Emily, Dakota, and Michael; three step great-great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Rick Osborne.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Mouth of Wilson Baptist Church (2217 Old Mill Road Mouth of Wilson, Virginia 24363). Officiating with be Pastor, Rev. Jeff Blevins and Rev. Cody Blair.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at the Osborne Family Cemetery (2063 Brookgreen Road Mouth of WIlson, Virginia 24363).

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorial contributions may be made to the Rugby Fire and Rescue Squad 53 Rugby Road Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363.
