Obituary

In loving memory of Bobby Don Spicer, a resident of Kernersville, NC, formerly of Pulaski, VA, passed away January 31, 2024, at Hospice of the Piedmont, in High Point, NC. Bobby was born December 3, 1938, to the late Paul and Gertrude Melton Spicer in Pulaski, VA.

Bobby found great joy in his upholstery work and his love for family was immeasurable, especially for his grandkids. Bobby took immense pride in the fact that he saved a girl's life during a hotel fire in Pulaski, VA. This is a true reflection of his care for others.

Bobby loved dogs, and his favorite indulgence was a classic cheeseburger, a simple pleasure that brought him great delight.

Mr. Spicer is survived by one son, Joseph Dale and Susie Spicer of Ivanhoe, VA; one daughter, Donna and Roger Burnette of Pulaski, VA; three stepsons, Jerry and Judy Moore of Salisbury, NC, James and Renee Moore, Sr. of Salisbury, NC, and Mickey Moore of Galax, VA; one stepdaughter, Linda Melton of Independence, VA; son, Terry Spicer and Fiancé, Christine; one granddaughter, Victoria Moore and Willie of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Judy Ekert of Washington State, and Joann Burris of Grundy, VA; numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews; best friend, John Stringer of Mt. Airy, NC.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Reins~Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA.
