Bonnie Lou Halsey Miller, age, 63, of Glade Valley, NC passed away on October 15, 2022, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  Bonnie was born on November 19, 1958, in Grayson County to Raymond and Sadie Mae Dowell Halsey.  She and her twin sister, Kathy grew up in the Gold Hill Community where they were known as the inseparable twins.  She was a graduate of Independence High School. Bonnie will be remembered for her self-sacrificial love and care of others.  She was known for her great ability as a private care Certified Nursing Assistant.  She never sought the limelight but was content in working in the shadows. She delighted in being with her sister, Kathy, her niece, Nicole and nephew, Nathan.  She found her greatest joy in being with her granddaughter, Lexi.  Bonnie was blessed that her caregiver was also her daughter, Michelle, who insisted that her mother move in with her during her sickness. She found great pleasure in sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee and loved eating at The Pines Restaurant in Sparta, NC. She was a life-long member of Gold Hill Baptist Church in Independence, VA. Her family will remember her zest for life and her fiery spirit that could be elevated to reveal a temper- when necessary!!!  They are greatly comforted in knowing that she has gained her heavenly home and has found the healing for which they have prayed.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be conducted on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Gold Hill Baptist Church in Independence, VA with the Pastor, Rev. David Trent Officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon-until the hour of service at Gold Hill Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Gold Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Michelle Miller of Sparta, NC; granddaughter, Lexi Miller of Sparta, NC; sister Kathy and Joe Dowell of Independence, VA; niece Nicole and Chris Mathis of Elkin, NC; nephew, Nathan Dowell of Independence, VA; several special aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
