Bonnie Lou Elliott age 82, of Galax, Virginia passed away on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2024, at the Woltz Hospice House in Dobson, NC.  Mrs. Elliott was born on May 6, 1941, in Damascus, Virginia, to Acey and Minnie Murray Widner.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Elliott, brother, Andy Widner; two sisters, Irene Boyles and Euna Faye Johnson; brothers, John Widner, Dick Widner, and Billy Widner.

Mrs. Elliott supported her community in many capacities.  She served as a teacher's aide Carroll County Public Schools, worked at BB&T bank, and owned and operated the community garage known as 94 Garage. While she excelled in every aspect of her working years, she will best be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and loving grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was well known and loved by everybody in her community.  She was highly respected, and her passing has left a great void in the hearts of her family as well as her community.  As a great lady of faith, Mrs. Elliott is now enjoying the peace and joy of a perfect paradise where a great company has welcomed her into God's paradise.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim and Alan Moxley of Baywood, Virginia; son, Marty and Amanda Elliott of Galax, VA; five grandchildren, Jeremy Moxley, Paige Moxley Taylor, Layken Elliott Davis, Tyler Elliott and Hayden Elliott; four great grandchildren, Wyatt Moxley, Brody Moxley, Camilla Taylor, Wrenleigh Elliott; two sisters, Wanda and Junior Eads of Winston-Salem, NC and Betty and Larry Draper of Woodlawn, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church in Fries, Virginia with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 22, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church.
