Carol Ann Hankel Pope, age 71, of the Cox's Chapel Community, formerly of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, died on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Mrs. Pope was born on August 20, 1950 in Madison, Wisconsin to Otis and Florence Hankel, who preceded her in death. She was the widow of Barry Pope. Mrs. Pope had a special love for her family and friends. She was especially close to her "Church Family," the members of Cox's Chapel Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons:  Ronnie Pope of Johnson City, TN and his children, Junior, Brittney and Tiffany, Robbie and Missy Pope of Elk Creek, VA and their children, Brett, Chase, Sierra and Kylie, and Jesse and Michelle Pope of Newland, NC and their children, Spencer, Trevor and Lily; daughter, Rebecca and Charles Burchette of Mouth of Wilson, VA and their children, Rachel, Charles and William; and four stepchildren. Special nieces, Sandy, Sharon, Sheila, Judy and Linda also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, October 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Cox's Chapel United Methodist Church  3747 River Bend Road Mouth of Wilson, Virginia 24363 with the Pastor, Rev. David L. Serven officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow the funeral service in the Cox's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 PM.
