Elk Creek

Obituary

Mr. Charles Elliott Lynch, age 89, of Elk Creek, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 23, 2026. He was born to the late Yates Webb and Lida Virginia Reel Lynch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Lynch and Fred Lynch; and one sister, Lucille Garner.

Mr. Lynch made his home in Elk Creek, VA  beginning in 1982, where he became a respected member of the community. He was a dedicated father, a loving husband, and a man who placed his family above all else. He believed in an honest day's work, often laboring from sunup to well into the night, and never truly considered himself retired. Even in his later years, he could be found cutting firewood or staying busy until his health no longer allowed.

He was also known for his many talents—an accomplished woodworker, and a man who simply enjoyed life's pleasures, especially good food. He was especially fond of tomato sandwiches. He was a good water skier and even built his own skis by hand. Mr. Lynch was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church since 1994. Above all, he was a devoted Pawpaw who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Mr. Lynch is survived by his son, Mark Lynch of the home; two daughters, Sharon and Jerry Archer of Mooresville, NC, and Barbara and Dale Cagle of Mooresville, NC; two brothers, Billy Lynch and Johnny Lynch; four sisters, Francis Hall, Betty Bradshaw, Margaret Baer, and Judy Meadows; grandchildren, Michael and Debbie, and Sean; one great-grandchild, Veronica; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Medi Home Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Mr. Lynch during his time of need.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Crockett and Mark Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Comers Rock Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Medi Home Hospice.
