Mr. Charles Bruce Mitchell, age 86, of Troutdale, Virginia died at his home Thursday night, Nov. 30, 2018.
He was born Jan. 3, 1932 to Wiley Wenton and Ossie Belle Shumate Mitchell. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict
and was and employee of Brunswick Corporation of Marion, Virginia for 41 years. He was a member of Troutdale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita Billings Mitchell of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law; Keith and Lisa Mitchell of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Bruce and Glenda Mitchell of Saltville, Virginia;
four grandchildren, Megan Coley and son, Myles, Devin Mitchell, Angela Thomas, Tommie Hopkins; six great grandchildren;
two brothers, Robert Gale Mitchell of Rural Retreat and Joe Dale Mitchell of Emory, Virginia; one sister,
Lavada June Osborne of Sugar Grove, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was predeceased by one sister, Mary Lilly Mitchell, and five brothers, William "Bill" Mitchell, Lewis Mitchell,
Cryus Mitchell, Carl "Jack" Mitchell and infant brother, Donald Franklin Mitchell.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted on Wednesday December, 5, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Troutdale Baptist
Church by Pastor Ken Riggins and Rev. Scott Flippin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the Troutdale Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Grayson County V.F.W. Post NO. 7726.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Troutdale Rescue Squad 291 Ripshin Road
