Charlie Anderson Hicks, age, 73, of Galax, the Baywood Community, died on August 15, 2020 at the Twin County Regional Hospital.  He was born on March 12, 1947 in Mt. Airy, North Carolina to Warren and Helen McHone Hicks.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathie Darlene Hicks, and his parents.

He is survived by three sons and spouses, Justin Hicks of the home, Jared and Tara Hicks of Savannah, Georgia, Joshua and Maura Hicks of Irmo, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hicks, Tucker Hicks, Jordyn Hicks, and Tiller Hicks; father-in-law, Willie Smith and Nellie Mabe; sister and brother-in-law, Trina and Larry VanHoose; brother-in-law, Donald Ramey; special friend, Ezra Bilbrey of Independence; several nieces and nephews and special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel by Rev. Tom Burcham, Rev. Darrin Brannock and Larry VanHoose.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Independence with military rites by Grayson V.F.W. Post #7726.
