Clara Mae was born at Comers Rock, Virginia to Dewey Sutherland and Zenna Hale Sutherland.

She is survived by her husband, Eldridge "Deacon" Jones of the home; daughter and spouse, Lisa and Tim Horton of Elk Creek, VA; son and spouse, Jeff and Rosie Jones of Elk Creek; three grandchildren, Krystal Sparks, Adam Horton and Allen Horton; one great-grandchild, Levi Horton; two sisters, Maretha Harrington of Independence, VA and Nancy and Aubrey Caldwell of Elk Creek, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, VA. Rev. Johnny Johnson and Rev. Joe Warren will officiate. Interment in Comers Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends (Friday )one hour preceding the funeral service and at other times at the residence of Jeff and Rosie Jones, 278 Hunters Lane, Elk Creek, VA
