Dana Billings

Dana Elizabeth Catron Billings, age 46. Of Glade Valley, NC passed away at her home on Sunday, October 18, 2026. She was born in Sparta, North Carolina on June 18, 1980, to Ralph and Rebecca Yvonne Wooten Catron.

Dana’s life has exemplified every virtue that one would expect from the life of a dedicated nurse of 29 years. Saying that she was adored by her family, friends, co-workers, and patients is an understatement. She was among the most selfless, heartfelt, caring individuals who embodied the spirit of servanthood in every aspect of her professional and personal life. She found her greatest joy in providing for her family and friends. Known as “Gan” to her grandchildren, she delighted in their every action and adventure. She could not be involved enough in the lives of her children or grandchildren. She loved her house where she and her husband enjoyed many projects to make a warm and inviting home for their families. She loved her cat, Bella and her dog “Wheezy” (known as “PD,” puppy dog.)

Dana was a woman of great faith, which has given her family the hope and comfort that she laid aside the troubles of this world for a peaceful home in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Wooten Catron; her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Paris Bourne Catron.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Billings of the home; her father, Ralph Catron of Independence, VA; her children, Luke and Brea Marsh of Glade Valley, NC, Ashley and Dustin Johnson of Baywood, VA, Josh and Morgan Billings, Jordan Billings, and Sam Billings all of Glade Valley, NC; one sister, Denise Brown of Sparta, NC; special aunts and Uncle, Joann Odam, Bobby and Gail Catron all of Independence; grandchildren, Gracelyn Marsh, Claire Hawkins, Gracie Keith, Mason Billings, Delanie Billings, Kelsie Billings, Liam Bonner, and Jayden Bonner.

The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2026, from 10:00-12:00 noon. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with Bro. Jeff Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the Hackler Cemetery on Peach Bottom Road in Independence, VA.
