Daniel Gayle Price, age 80, of Whitetop, Virginia died at his home Saturday morning. He was born on April 25, 1938 in Maryland to Mitchell Dan and Zola Nan Kilby Price.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Whitetop, Virginia by
Rev. Harvey Adkinson and Rev. Lundy Finley. Burial will follow in the Cole Cemetery. The family will receive Friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at the Faith Lutheran Church.
Mr. Price is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Dana and Eddie Jones of Rugby, Virginia, Denise and Benny Ball of Independence, Virginia, Dawn and Ronnie Dolinger of Rugby, Virginia, Donya and Howard Graham of Lansing, North Carolina; Special Friend and Mother of children: Cornetta Richardson Price of Rugby, Virginia; One sister: Evelyn Price Jones of Jefferson, North Carolina; One Brother and sister-in-law: Ruben and Sharon Price of Louisville, Kentucky; two daughters of the heart: Sherry Hurley of Piney Creek, NC and Debbie Walls of Independence, Virginia; Ten grandchildren: Amanda, Adam, Nathaniel, Brittany, Joseph, Rose, Jessica, Wendy, Lydia and Elaina and six great-grandchildren: Garrett, Tenley, "one in the basket,"Westyn, Carter, Keelan and Kason and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. He is also survived by his dog, Dillon, his horse, Hanna and his hen, Lucky!
Mr. Price was a charter member of the Whitetop Fire Department, a member of the Tree Growers Association of Mt. Rogers, Faith Lutheran Church, and Old Virginia Saddle Club. He was a mentor in the Whitetop Community.
