David L. Delp, age, 72, of Maiden, NC, died on December 27, 2021 at the Atrium Health in Lincolnton, NC.  Mr. Delp was born on May 22, 1949 in Grayson County Virginia to Ralph Perkins and Esther Greer Delp.

He was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express and was also a heavy diesel mechanic. He will be remembered as a Patriotic American who created a sign for the back of his truck that read" In God, I Trust!"  He enjoyed drag strip racing and spending time with his Doberman dog, "Ranger."  While he was an independent spirit, he was especially devoted to his three boys and to his five grandchildren.

Mr. Delp is survived by his three sons, Adam and Tammy Delp of Pilot Mountain, NC, Timothy and Kirstin Delp of Washington State, and Chad and Angela Delp of Kernersville, NC; one sister, Janet Martin of Fries, Virginia; nieces, Beth Martin Kent and Leigh Anne Hilbert both of Asheville, NC; five grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday at 3:00 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church in Elk Creek with Rev. Steve Roberson officiating.
