David was born at Jefferson, North Carolina to Beal Kirk Halsey and Hazel Eller Halsey.

Surviving, wife, Wilma Sexton Halsey of the home; daughter, Alisa Halsey of the home; son and spouse, Scott and Susie Halsey of Ft. Collins, Colorado; brother, Jerry Halsey of Goodview, VA; three sisters and spouses, Doris and Larry Ward of Independence, VA, Kay and Charlie Spencer of Mouth of Wilson, VA and Karen Howell of Holden Beach, NC; sister-in-law, Irmgard Halsey of Olathe, Kansas;; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sam and Patsy Blevins of Independence, VA; aunt, Shirley Hash of Fries, VA, and several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great nephews

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, VA. Rev. Mike Montgomery will officiate. Interment in Young's Chapel Cemetery, Mouth of Wilson, VA. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M.
preceding the service and at other times at the residence.
