David Gene Parks, age 77, of Elk Creek, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Alleghany Health in Sparta, NC.  Mr. Parks was born in Grayson County on March 2, 1946, to the late Mathes Gene and Myrtle Luticia Hall Parks.

He was a long-time employee of Virginia Forestry Service.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sawing wood.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Parks of the home; one daughter, Lisa and Jeffery Compton of Vansant, VA; three sons, Kenneth and Emerald Parks of Fairview, VA, William and Bo Thomas of Fries, VA, and Douglas and Patty Thomas of Wytheville, VA; sister, Gearlene Barry of Mt. City, TN; six grandchildren, J.C., Christopher, Allen, Codi, Renae, and Brittany; three great grandchildren and "one on the way" also survive.

At the request of Mr. Parks all services will be private.
