David Lee Wright, age 73, of Westminster, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Oconee Memorial Hospital in SC.

He was born in Independence, Virginia on April 7, 1948 to the late William Lee Wright, Jr. and Nancy Crocketta Anders Wright Brewer.  David was the founder and owner of Wright's Wholesale.  He will be remembered as a Christian and a true southern patriot.  He was a life member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie Lee and Rosa Temple Hall Wright; maternal grandparents, David Crocket and Nannie Della Moss Anders.  David is survived by his two sons, David Lee Wright, Jr. of Charles Town, WV and William "Bill" Lee Wright of Burtonsville, MD; one brother, Bill Wright (Kathy) of Independence, Virginia; sister, Janet Kirby of Seneca, SC; granddaughter, Savanna Wright of Laurel, MD; two nephews, Kenneth Kirby (Emily) and Kristopher Kirby; beloved great niece and nephews; one great-great niece; and his cherished dog, "Poochie."

Memorial services will be conducted on November 12 at 2:00 PM. at the First United Methodist Church in Independence, VA with Rev. Edgar Roland officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.  Private inurnment will follow in the Independence Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Independence Volunteer Fire Department C/O Roger Hash PO Box 588 Independence, Virginia 24348 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
