Debra Lynn Jennings Garrison, age 62, of Galax, Virginia passed away at the Galax Nursing and Rehab and Center in Galax, Virginia.  Debra was born on March 24, 1963, in Galax, Virginia to Thomas Lonnie and Ila Faye Melton Jennings.  Debra faced numerous health challenges throughout her life and through it all, she always found a way to smile.  In her professional career as a paramedic, she will be remembered for her diligence as well as her ability.  She greatly enjoyed her work of saving lives.  Her dedication to her profession was unsurpassed.  She will be remembered for her humor and her ability to smile in the most difficult times.  She lived a simple life that was never fueled by the attention of others.  She was greatly influenced however, by her relationship with God.  Her faith was a great part of her life.  She was always lovingly providing for her family which brought her great joy.    Her two girls and their accomplishments were a great source of pride for her.  She delighted in her grandchildren and was a much-loved "Nana!"  Her grandchildren was a big part of her life.  She was a mom to a host of fur babies throughout her life.  She delighted in reflecting upon three of her favorite dogs, "Ginger, Mattie, and Lilly."

Debra is survived by her two daughters; Jessica Melton of Galax and Lindsey Beth and Joshua Cockerham of Woodlawn, VA; three grandchildren, Landon Bergeron of Galax, Ian Isom and Aaron Cockerham both of Woodlawn, VA; one sister, Wendy Jennings of Galax; one brother, Derrick Jennings of Galax, VA; special great-nephews, Evan Cox and Azen Cox both of Independence, VA.

The family is honoring Debra's request that no formal services are to be conducted.  Please continue her legacy by remembering her with a kind deed and a smile.
