Donald Breece Cornett, age 75, of Independence, Virginia died on July 22, 2020 at his home. He was born on July 10, 1945 in Virginia to Breece and Amelia Price Cornett.  He honorably served in the Unites States Army in Vietnam and Desert Storm.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tina Cornett of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren, Hunter Cornett, Dakota Cornett, Graycee Cornett, Isaac Cornett, and Mayzee Cornett; one brother, Jack and Dianna Cornett of Galax, Virginia; five sisters, Shirley Anderson of Independence, Virginia, Ann and Gayle Bolt of Independence, Virginia, Phyllis and Ernest Dowell of Sparta, North Carolina, Susan and Gary Branscome of Dugspur, Virginia, and Reta and Mike Bledsoe of Sparta, North Carolina; special aunt,  Betty Thorton of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, at 11:00 AM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Osborne and Gayle Bolt.  Burial will follow in the Bridle Creek Cemetery with military rites conducted by Grayson VFW Post #7726.

The family will be at the home of the son, Jeff and Tina Cornett at 314 W. Main Street Independence, Virginia 24348.
