Donald Leslie Treat III, age 76, of Elk Creek, Virginia passed away at his home on Thursday evening, March 26, 2026.  He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 4, 1950, to Donald Leslie and Alice Mahachk Treat.  Following his high school career, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with distinction until his honorable discharge.  He later completed two associate degrees.  He served as a master carpenter and was influential in recruiting and training young enthusiasts interested in a career in carpentry.  He will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic.  As a young man, he completed his Eagle Scout Merit Badge which began a tradition to set the standard high for future projects in which he was involved for the remainder of his life.

He is survived by his son, Michael Valentine Treat of Florida; two sisters; granddaughter, Hannah Gridley who lives abroad; the mother of his children, Michele Leah Denny of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Lynn Treat.

At his request, all services will be private.
