Dorothy Love Galyean, age 60, of Independence, Virginia, died at her home, Sunday morning, September 1, 2019.  She was born on May 8, 1959 in Whitehead, NC to Everette and Elvira Caudill Love.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, James David Love.

She is survived by her fiancé, Robert Phipps of the home; daughter, Denise Cornett of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren. Danielle Jones, Hunter Cornett, and Dakota Cornett, all of Independence, Virginia; five sisters, Irene Walls (Randy) and Darlene Joines (Willous) both of Sparta, North Carolina, Nancy Miller of Abingdon, Virginia, Liza Fender of Texas, and Ann Hutchins of Kanas; two brothers, Benny Love (Patsy) and Duane Love (Stella) both of Sparta, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2; 00 PM at the Reins Sturdivant Chapel by Rev. Tom Burcham and Rev. David Osborne.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Landmark Cemetery in Whitehead, NC.
