Edith was born at Grassy Creek, Virginia to Leonard Reedy and Effie Henderson Reedy. She was a secretary-receptionist at a dental office
before retiring. She was the widow of the late Ray Phipps

Surviving, son, Mike Phipps of Lansing, NC; daughter, Cindy Ashley of Galax, VA; two grandsons, Devin and Ashley Phipps of Winston-Salem, NC and Eric Hawks of Galax, VA, one brother and spouse, Bobby and Barbara Reedy of Volney, VA; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Reedy of Independence, VA and Dixie Reedy of Mouth of Wilson, VA,
and several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, VA.
Rev. Darrin Brannock and Rev. Randy Morris will officiate. Interment in Saddle Creek Cemetery, Independence, VA; The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.

There will be no visitation at the home, and please no food.
