Mr. Parsons was born at West Jefferson, NC, to Harry Dean Parsons and Arlene Hart Parsons

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Shaw Parsons.

Surviving, two sons, Edward Dwaine Parsons of Galax and Robert Madison "Matt" Parsons of Independence, VA, a daughter, Shanna Carol Parsons of the home; a sister, Bonnie Marlene Parsons of Independence, VA; uncle, Lillard "Pete" Hart of Independence, VA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several cousins also survive

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017
at Young's Chapel Baptist Church, Mouth of Wilson, VA. Interment in the church cemetery. Rev. David Osborne and Rev. Cody Brown will officiate and Twin County Hospice. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral service and at other times at the home. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society
