Edwin Stuart, age 79, of Lansing, NC passed away at his home on Feb. 5, 2025.  He was born on March 23, 1945, in Lansing, NC to Worth and Ruby Adams Stuart.  Edwin was employed at the Thomasville Furniture Plant where he enjoyed many years of faithful work assembling and finishing furniture until the plant closed.  He then went to United Chemi-Con, Inc in Lansing where he worked until the summer of 2024. Edwin lived a simple life adhering to a doctrine of honesty and simplicity.  While he was a stranger to no one, he was a friend to many and was always willing and eager to share a laugh with anybody.  His presence will be greatly missed among his community and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Edward Stuart on October 31, 2017, and his wife, Norma Jean Eldreth Stuart on Feb. 1, 2021 and his sister, Edith Stuart Finley on September 7, 2020.

He is survived by his niece, Julie Annette and Bob Mahaffey of Statesville, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Lundy Finley and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery in Lansing, NC.
