"Who can find a virtuous woman, her price is far above rubies…"  The earthly sojourn of Elizabeth Louise Bourne Roberts, age 83, of Independence, VA, the Pine Mountain Community, came to a close as the night fell on June 25, 2026.  In that moment her faith became sight, and she entered the joys of paradise that had been prepared for her.  She was born on April 19, 1943, in Galax, VA to Sanford and Beulah Maines Bourne.  She attended school in Baywood and Galax and was a life-long member of Pine Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church where she sang in the choir and for many years was active in a singing group with her sister, Alene and brother, Donald.   She was always involved in all activities associated with her church.  On November 21, 1958, she was married to Wayne Edgar Roberts, and this union was blessed with 56 years of happy marriage and two daughters.  Four years following Wayne's passing in 2014, she married Autry Leroy Taylor on April 6, 2018, with whom she enjoyed 8 happy years of marriage.  Louise will be remembered as a great woman of faith, whose trust was strongly founded in the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a loving wife who made an inviting and comfortable home for her family.  She raised her girls in the authority of the church and trained them to be strong women of faith and Godly mothers.  Even though a working mother, she rose early to see that her girls had a hot breakfast and was well dressed for school.  She never sacrificed her home, family or her church during her working years.  She trained her girls to maintain a clean and safe home.  Saturday mornings were dedicated to house cleaning and organizing and the afternoon was "off to town for fun!" As a talented seamstress, she often sewed clothing for her girls and others. Louise has been characterized as one with a quite spirit.  She never was one to lead conversation but was most often sitting quietly listening intently.   However, her gentle manner and quiet personality loudly spoke of her Christlike character.  She was a doting grandmother who delighted in her grandchildren and found great joy in providing meals and hours of enjoyment for them.  She was a valued member of her community who was recognized as a dedicated neighbor who was always willing to offer a helping hand.  She was a lady of elegance and distinction always immaculately dressed.  The devotion and dedication that she showed to God, her family, her church and her community is her lasting legacy.  Those who remain to mourn her passing are comforted that her enduring qualities cannot be consigned to the grave but continue as a beacon of light illuminating the path of all of those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Bourne and Donald Bourne; and her son-in-law, William Neil Anderson, Jr.

Louise is survived by her husband, Autry Taylor of Galax, VA; two daughters, Debbie Anderson of Galax, VA and Tammy and Jimmy Jones of Independence, VA; three sisters, Alene and Argil Roberts of Independence, VA, Frances and Tommy Wilson of Meadowview, VA, and Mary and Eugene Shaw of Galax, VA; grandchildren, Stephen and Samantha Anderson of Galax, Kevin and Julianna Jones of Abingdon, VA, Matthew and Chloe Jones of Salem, VA; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Anderson, Rowan Jones, Natalie Jones, and Lucy Jones; several loving nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at the Pine Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Doug Stuart officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hackler Cemetery on Peach Bottom Road in Independence, VA.  The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Medi Home Hospice, Chloe Jones, and Becky Nelson for the kind, compassionate care extended to Louise during her sickness.
