Lib worked for many years at Grayson Garment Company as a seamstress. She loved to grow flowers and prepared many wonderful meals for her family and friends. One of her specialties was baking sourdough bread. Many people had the privilege of enjoying a slice at meals and some were lucky enough to take an entire loaf home.
She made a profession of faith at a young age and became a life-long member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She cared for several of her own relatives when they became sick and maintained strong connections with the many friends she loved. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW later in life and had a deep affection for the land and people of Grayson County.
The family is grateful to Wanda Hale, Marsha Hill, Sally Dowell, and Mary Frost for two years of special care in her home and Twin County Hospice and the staff of Grayson Rehabilitation and Health Care Center during the last two weeks of her life.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday 2:00 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Darin Brannock, Speaker Jimmy McKnight and Speaker Stephen Cornett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, c/o Becky Reedy, 3779 Beaver Dam Road Independence, VA 24348.
