Mr. Elton Severe Boyer, age, 93 of Independence, Virginia died November 21, 2019 at the Grayson Rehab Center in Independence.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Roberts Boyer, sons, Nathaniel and Pernell Boyer, parents, Lamer and Vena Boyer, brother and wife, Paul and Linnie Boyer, sister and husband Loraine and Page Evans, and his son-in-law, Ronald Moxley.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Annetta Boyer Moxley of Sparta, North Carolina and Sharon and Jimmy Osborne of Independence, Virginia; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Osborne, Rev. David Osborne, and Rev. Jonathan Osborne.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.  Burial will follow in Boyer Family Cemetery in Independence, Virginia.
