Emma June Spencer Emerson, age 86, of the Rugby Community of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia died on March 19, 2022, at the Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson, North Carolina.  She was born on June 1, 1935, in Rugby, Virginia to Artie Blane and Edna Farmer Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bryan Emerson and her brother, Norman O. Spencer. June regularly attended Corinth Baptist Church in Rugby, Virginia.

She is survived by one daughter, Freda Kay Emerson Trotter (David Wayne) of Sophia, NC; granddaughter, Paige Turner White (Chad) of Winston-Salem, NC; great grandsons, Cameron John White, Keanan Bryan White both of Winston Salem, NC; sister, Irene Spencer Ward of Independence, VA; sister-in-law, Barbara Spencer of Mouth of Wilson, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Eller officiating.  The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Rugby, Virginia.

The family wishes to express their special thanks to Cathy and Ricky Spencer for their love, compassion and time spent helping June over the past 10 years.  They also wish to express their appreciation to the Margate Health and Rehab staff and the Physical Therapy Unit for their attention, care and concern.
