Mr. Spurlin was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Smith Spurlin.

Surviving, two daughters, Margaret S. (Lloyd) Willis of Crozet, VA amd Marsha Spurlin and friend, Wanda of Gladstone, VA; two sons, Marty (Alesa ) Spurlin of Galax, Va and Mike (Anita) Spurlin of Galax, VA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one half-sister, Elaine Hawks of Ennice, NC; two sisters-in-law, Reba Smith and Shirley Smith and several nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Burnett and the Rev. Lee Houston officiating..

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time for the funeral service

Interment in the Linton Family Cemetery, Galax, VA

Military rites will be conducted by Grayson County VFW Post 7726

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywood Rescue Squad, 47 Crossroads Drive, Galax, VA 24333

The family will be at the home of Mike and Anita Spurlin, 111 Dairy Lane, Galax, VA where friends may call.
