George William Archer age 81, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem VA on June 22, 2024. George was born on June 26, 1942, to the late Lestle and Mary Belle Taylor Archer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Ford; three brothers, Billy Archer, Carlton Junior Archer, and Robert Archer

George cherished every moment spent with his family. He found great joy in the simple pleasures in life, particularly sitting on his porch, admiring the beauty of nature and the wildlife that frequented his property. George loved working in his wood shop, raising chickens, and lounging in his man Cave. He was a faithful Christian and a proud member of the family at Cold Springs Church. His devotion to family and faith will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Archer is survived by his wife, Mona Ann Archer, of the home; 4 daughters, Allison Crab of NC, Rachel and Eugene Kolb of Lexington, SC, Beverly Youngblood of Laurel Fork, VA, Melinda and Jody Bowman of Mt. Airy, NC; two sisters, Patsy and LeRoy Bourne of Fries, VA, and Edna Pearman of Ivanhoe, VA; two brothers, Gene and Tina Archer of Galax, VA, and Thomas Archer of Baywood, VA; sister-in-law, Sue and Michael Chappell; brother-in-law, Virgil and Carol Bond; five grandsons; one granddaughter, and one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cold Springs Church in Ivanhoe, VA with the Rev. Marty Stallard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
