George Emmit Plummer, age 85, of Piney Creek, NC passed away at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC on September 27, 2023. He was born to Charles Wayne Plummer and Sarah Essie Cooper Plummer on April 13, 1938.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Nell Plummer, Shirley Speeks, Virginia Dare Daniel, and Joanne Koury; two brothers, Bob Plummer, and Paul Plummer.

George retired from Leviton Mfg Co in West Jefferson, NC. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden, and building and fixing things around the home. He was known for his willingness to help a neighbor in a time of need. He loved his grandkids with all his heart and will be dearly missed all of us.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Plummer of Piney Creek, son Derrick Plummer and wife, Kimberly; two grandchildren, Caleb Plummer, and Layla Plummer all of Rock Hill, SC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA. Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Allen Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the South Fork Cemetery in Piney Creek, North Carolina.
