Mrs. Georgia Marie Hall Reedy Spencer, age 92, of Mouth of Wilson, the York Ridge Community, gained her heavenly home on January 2, 2023.  She passed away at the Chatham Nursing and Rehab Center in Elkin, NC.  Mrs. Spencer was born on December 14, 1930, in the Rugby Community to Jessie James and Mattie Ellen Barnes Hall.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Lewis Reedy and Orville Dale Spencer; her son, Jerry Dean "Butch" Reedy; her brothers, Frank Hall and Rev. Rex Hall; sisters, Nancy H. Reedy and Mary H. Eller.  Marie will be remembered as a dedicated wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loving sister.  Marie lived a life of dedicated service to her Lord and Savior.  She was a living witness to the message of the Gospel!  Her life-long service of love was even extended to the halls of the nursing home where each resident was told that they were loved by her.  She was a beloved resident who made a lasting impact on the lives of the patients and staff alike.  Her family recalls her love of cooking.  If anybody was at her house at lunch or dinner hour, they were going to eat and they were going to enjoy it!  It is fitting that her beloved surviving canine buddy, Pete, be recognized for his constant and obedient companionship.  The family also wish to recognize, "Mo", another beloved canine companion which preceded her in death.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Patsy and Steve Berman of Florida; Patricia Albert and Roger McGrady of Dobson, NC; two sons, Mastin Spencer and Sandra Mathena of Marion, VA; and Kenneth and Peggy Spencer of Mouth of Wilson, VA; one sister, Virginia Orlean Reedy of Troutdale, VA; daughter-in-law, Janie Reedy; special granddaughter and caregiver, Tonya Cave; grandchildren, Dale Spencer, Jeremy and Crystal Spencer, Sarah and Steve, Ginger and Anthony Branscome, David and Vickie Reedy, Dana Berman, and Jennifer and J.P. Durand; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Jones and Rev. Doug Halsey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Rugby, Virginia.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
