Obituary

Rev. Gladys Stewart Lee was born on November 3, 1948, to the Late George and Margaret Reeves she transitioned from Earth to Glory on February 17, 2025, at her parents' home making her stay on earth 76 years and three months. In addition to her parents Gladys was proceeded in death by her husband, Guy Lee, Sr and son Gregory Lee.

Gladys attended Scott Memorial in Wytheville, VA and graduated from Independence High School. Gladys was employed by Anvil Brand-Robert Shaw until they closed. She retired from the Grayson/Wytheville Library after 15 years of service. Gladys joined the Gospel Temple Church of the True Living God under the leadership of the late Bishop Mary R. Milner. She worked faithfully with her pastor, Bishop Charles Millner. She was an active minister of the church and the church secretary; she was the president of the choir and treasurer of the WSCS convention. Gladys loved cookbooks and love trying new recipes. Her coconut pies were the best. She will be missed greatly.

Gladys married the love of her life on February 4, 1967, to this union was born six children, four boys and two girls she leaves to cherish her memory, Sons, Guy Walter Lee Jr. and wife Georgia of San Diego, CA, Gordon Lee of Independence, VA, Gerald and Jamie Lee of New Market, MD; daughters, Geanna Lee and Glendoria Lee both of Independence, VA; daughter-in-law, Denise Lee of Wytheville, VA; three sisters, Nancy and Leonard Hash of Roanoke, VA, Doris and Pete Phipps of Independence, VA, Rita Reeves of Galax/Independence, VA; one brother Junior Reeves of Independence VA; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Gospel Temple True Church of the Living God at 2:00 PM with Elder Dayle McKinney and Bishop Charles Millner officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow immediately following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Independence, VA. The RePast will be held at the VFW building 115 Klondike Rd. Independence, VA.

The family of Gladys Lee would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness toward the family. Special thanks to Rita Reeves, Doris Phipps, and Tiffany Price for being her caregivers. Also, special thanks to the doctors and hospice.
