Glenna Marie Creger Kirk, age 91, of Independence, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia to Louis Alex and Etta Mae Hall Creger.  Glenna's greatest joy in life was providing for her family.  This was most apparent in her well-stocked can room where her love of gardening and canning was always on display.  Her special meatloaf was a family favorite.  In her spare time, she was dedicated to her flowers which were abundant in her yard.  She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought much joy to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Sue Kirk Correll.

She is survived by her husband J. Rex Kirk of the home; one son, Danny Kirk of Independence, VA; granddaughter, Corianne and Jonathan Todd of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Jason and Savannah Kirk of Knoxville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Todd, Keegan Todd, and Lilah Kirk; nephew, Raymond Creger of Aberdeen, MD; special friend, Jackie Richardson of Mouth of Wilson, VA also survives.

Memorial services will take place at the Gold Hill Cemetery in the Gold Hill Community of Independence.  Dates for these services will be announced as they become available.
