Harold Dean Hash, better known as Pete, age, 65 of Independence, Virginia passed away at his home in Independence, Virginia.  Pete was born on May 6, 1957, in the Gold Hill Community of Independence to Harvey Preston and Polly Anna Dowell Hash.  He will be remembered for his love of life and zest for living.  He was always ready to tell a joke or pull the next prank.  He was an excellent cook and often used this skill to secure his next job.  Pete was kind-hearted and never knew a stranger.  He was a talented drummer and loved music.  Pete will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.  In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, James Hash.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Brooke Hash of Georgia; four grandchildren, Tierany, Rowan, Trinity, and Lilly; three brothers, Robert Hash, Danny Hash, and Homer and Dorothy Hash all of Independence, Virginia; three sisters, Ethel Mabe of Woodlawn, Virginia, Margaret Hash Sexton of Independence, Virginia, Debra and Terry Sartain of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services to honor Pete's life will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Gold Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rick Miller officiating.
