Mr. Truitt was born at Independence, VA, to Robert Click Truitt and Hattie Hampton Truitt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Truitt. He was a self-employed farmer.

Surviving, Daughters, Patricia Andrews of Sparta, NC and Karen Levin of Waynesboro, VA; three sons, Howard Lee Truitt, JR of Danville, VA, David and Sherry Truitt of Galax, VA, and Robert Truitt of Christiansburg, VA, Grandson, Joshua Truitt of Christiansburg, VA
and his dog, Sandy

Funeral service will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel, Independence, VA. Rev. Jay Loyd Pugh will officiate. Interment in Shiloh Cemetery, Sparta, NC
