Mrs. Inez Mae Ward, age, 94, of Independence died on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at her home.  She was born on March 26, 1926 in Fries, Virginia to Marlie and Kathrine Bowers Jones.  She was the widow of Issac Eugene Ward.

She is survived by her daughters, Mildred and Marvin Caudill of Independence; three grandchildren, Travis and Wendy Gunter of Troutdale, Virginia, Carmella Dalton of Galax, Virginia and Jamie and Huisuk Bauguess of Gainesville, Virginia; two brothers, M. F. and Judy Jones of Mt. Airy, North Carolina and Sherman and Claudine Jones of Mt. Airy; great-granddaughter, Makayla Gunter of Troutdale, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Saddle Creek Cemetery in Independence, Virginia by Rev. Ben Haga.
