Ivory Magnolia Austin Hamm, age 91, of Whitetop, VA passed away on December 5, 2023 at the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center in Independence, VA.  She was born on May 17, 1932, in Smyth County VA to Estelle and Siddie Alma Austin Jones.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She had a special love for animals, and she enjoyed the companionship of several dogs throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Hamm.  She is survived by her children, Zelda Richardson of Whitetop, VA, Gregory Hamm of Ferguson, NC, Darlene Schade of Rutherfordton, NC, and Elta Trivett of Piney Creek, NC; eight grandchildren, McKeshia Kogod, Joshua Kogod, Shawna Hamm, Nathan Schade, Natasha Schade, Nolan Schade, Johnny Ray Anderson, and Aaron Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be in the Byars Cemetery in Whitetop, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rugby Rescue Squad and Fire Department 53 Rugby Road Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363.
