James Raybon Grubb, age 81, of Galax, VA passed away at his home on December 24, 2023.  He was born in Grayson County on May 16, 1942, to James Tobblar Vincent and Roselle Burris Grubb.  Mr. Grubb was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict.  He will be remembered as a dedicated husband and loving father and grandfather.  He was gifted in upholstery.  He was an avid Braves Fan and loved racing.  He was a patient man which was displayed in his hunting and fishing adventures.

He is survived by his wife Louise P. Grubb of the home; one son, Richie and Lisa Grubb of Woodlawn, VA; two sisters, Thericia and William Callihan of Galax, VA and Sharon and Herman Blevins of Arizona; five grandchildren, Kaylin Grubb of Woodlawn, VA, Cody Grubb of Galax, VA, Corey Grubb of Mississippi, Courtney and Charlie Hensdell of Hillsville, VA, and Cierra Sizemore of Woodlawn, VA; two great grandchildren, Caden and Cullen Hensdell; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at the Salem Cemetery in Independence, VA with the Grayson VFW post# 7726 and the United States Army.
