Janet Faye Roop, age 82, of Whitetop, VA, passed away on July 4th in Whitetop, VA.

Mrs. Roop is preceded in death by her father and mother, Blaine and Nannie Blevins; two sisters, Inez Carter and Mable Absher; five brothers, David Blevins, Guy Blevins, Kent Blevins, Dayton Blevins, and Toby Blevins.

Mrs. Roop is survived by her husband, Clifford Roop of the home; two daughters, Priscilla Roop and friend Robert Farrington of Jefferson, NC; Sylvia Duncan (Michael) of Lansing, NC; one sister, Joann Lewis of Mouth of Wilson, VA; one brother, Jimmie Ray Blevins of Seven Miles Ford, VA.

Also surviving are five grandchildren: Brianna Farrington, Amy Farrington, Chris Farrington, Cheyenne Holman, and Dustin Holman, all of Ashe County, NC.

Faye loved her family. She loved taking pictures and making videos. She also loved to sew and make quilts for family and friends.

Services will be at The New Beginnings Church in Whitetop, VA. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Byars Cemetery in Whitetop, VA.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA is serving the Roop family.
