Obituary

Master Correction Officer, Jeremy Lewis Hall, age 40, of Elk Creek, Virginia passed away in Independence on Nov. 17, 2025.

Jeremy was a man's man. The kind of guy you just wanted to have a beer with. Jeremy loved being outside and could create something out of nothing when it came to welding or anything to do with working with his hands. Jeremy loved his beautiful wife and never shied away from telling her or anyone else how proud he was of her. He loved his baby dog Chia. Jeremy would often recall his days of traveling for work and the times he got to show his amazing daughter new places.

Jeremy was loved by all. He approached life in a way not many people can. He didn't want praise for doing his job. He often would drop everything to help his grandma, granny or dad. No matter what was going on he had a smile that made everyone feel safe. Jeremy laughed often and made others laugh as well. Whether it was wearing his Toboggan at work all summer long or cutting his jeans into shorts or throwing on a dress just for laughs.

Jeremy approached life with the idea that everything was going to be ok. He showed love freely to everyone. In life he followed the same motto as that of his job firm, fair and consistent. We will miss his smile and that darn toboggan he wore.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Marie Hall, of the home; daughter, Amaya Hall (Bland, VA), mother, Mary Susan Richardson (Wytheville, VA); father, Michael L Hall (Debra) Elk Creek VA; Mother-in-law, JoAnn Bollin (Dorchester, SC); brother, Drew Hall (Wytheville VA); maternal grandmother, Edna Ruth Burcham (galax VA); paternal grandmother, Ruth Hall (Elk Creek, VA); maternal grandfather, Dean Bedwell of Elk Creek, VA; stepchildren, Felix & Sophi Johnson (Durham, NC) beloved dogs, Chia and Willow; several loved aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Jeremy is proceeded in death by paternal grandfather, John Lewis Hall.
