Mr. Jerry Micthell Braxton, age 74, received his glorified body on Saturday September 6th 2025. Jerry served faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. It is said that Jerry was a soldier in and out of uniform but was one to never forget to make you laugh or share a smile. Jerry was also a dedicated son to his mother, who passed just three short months prior, keeping her at home and caring for her throughout her sickness.

Mr. Braxton is survived by his wife Lenay Braxton; one daughter Amy Braxton-Whiter and husband Derek Whiters; two granddaughters, Domonique Braxton and La'Keisha Braxton; two grandsons, Brain Braxton and Justin Braxton; five great grandchildren, Jaylen Braxton, Journee Braxton, Brain Braxton J.R, Kayden Braxton and Lerick Braxton; one brother, Clarance "Chuck"  Hale; one aunt Deloris; two sisters, Joyce Jenkins and Racheal Redford; one niece Dana Dixon and one nephew Johnnie Dixon; one great uncle Harley Braxton also survives. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by two uncles, James Odell Dixon, and Dawyne Dixon; and Grandma, Kate.

Funeral Services will be held Friday September 12, 2025, at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the St. Johns Cemetery in Elk Creek Virginia with military rites.
