Jesse Ray Crouse, age 76, of Fries, Virginia passed away on November 9, 2023, at the Wythe Community Hospital in Wytheville, VA.  He was born on September 1, 1947, in Grayson County, Virginia to Henry Wayne and Annie Mae King Crouse.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Wayne Crouse and all his brothers and sisters.  Jesse was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed by the City of Galax as a construction worker.  He was always ready for a plate of biscuits and gravy.  He enjoyed a good laugh and was always full of fun.  He will be remembered as a good husband and loving father.  His favorite hours were passed sitting on the front porch.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Crouse of the home, three daughters, Bonnie Crouse and Randall Payne of Florida, Anna Crouse and Goyo Lopez of New Orleans, LA, and Frances Crouse of York, PA; grandchildren, Martika, Humberto, Kaylee, Arianna, Kaylyn, and E.J.; great grandchildren, Tianna, Yadira, Nathaniel, Maki, Juno, Hadues, and Kary.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Adams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery in Independence, VA with Military Honors performed by the Grayson VFW Post #7726 and the United States Army.
