Jimmie Ray Cornett, age 79, of Troutdale, Virginia died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.  He was born July 12, 1940 in Flatridge, Virginia to Wesley Glea and Annie Lee Perkins Cornett.  He was retired from Department of Corrections in Marion, Virginia.

He is survived by one son, Stephen and Missy Cornett of Flatridge, Virginia; sisters, Georgia and Gearl Dean Cornett, Nancy and Billy Johnson of Flatridge, Virginia; sisters-in-law and spouse, Nancy Anderson (Ray), Iris Russell both of Flatridge, Virginia and Linda Roberts (Curtis) of Comers Rock, Virginia; brother-in-law, Roger Cornett (Debbie) of Troutdale, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma Jean Cornett, and son, Calvin Cornett.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 7:00 at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jacob Vanover.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Central Cemetery in Flatridge, Virginia.
