Mr. Smith was born in Greensboro, NC to Settie Smith and Ezzie Hillard.

Surviving, wife Barbara Halsey Smith of the home; mother, Ezzie Hillard of Bonlee, NC; Four sons, Ryan Smith, Cameron Smith, Brandon Smith and Brian Royal; two daughters, Ashley Smith and Melissa Smith of Sanford, NC; three stepsons, Eddie Halsey, Jason Halsey and David Halsey, two sisters and spouses, Teresa and Jeff Kearns and Sharon and Lynn Elkins both of Silk Hope, NC; Several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Smith and his father, Settie Smith

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Church of God of Prophecy, Independence, VA. Rev. Doug Fleming will officiated. Interment at the home, Independence, VA

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
